Broken Pieces

Look To The East

Copyright 2007.

Written one morning after a night of storms. Our area doesn't seem to get a lot of tornados, but when they do come there is usually a wave of them.
These storms are usually much more frightening in the night, when it's impossible to see the storm coming except on the radar screen on tv.
I look forward to the day when there will be no more storms, no more night, no more tears, and no more pain.

Lyrics

Look to the East, in the sky
The storm has passed, and the sun's on the rise
The weeping endured through the dark lonely night
But joy has come in the morning!

Fear came through town like a train
In the lightning and thunder, the wind and the rain
Deep in the night, when all seemed lost
And all I could cling to was the cross!

But look to the East, a new sun's on the rise
And His mercy is new in its piercing light
And I will praise His name in the morning light
For there's no more night, no more night!

Look to the East, in the sky!
Coming in the clouds, it is Jesus Christ
With ten million angels, come to rescue His bride
From the long dark lonely night!

And look to the East, brighter than the sun!
For the day of the Lord, it has finally come!
And I will praise His name for ten billion years
For there's no more night, and no more tears.
